Best Tennis Shoes | 2020 Guide & Reviews

When it comes to the best tennis shoes, I have to admit, this was one of our more enjoyable reviews. Analyzing  loads of shoes, then going out to run around and play tennis – I was living the dream. Before I go on, I have to tell you that I have wide feet. My initial concern wasn’t necessarily looking for which tennis shoes were the best according to amazon, but more so which were the best for wide feet and wouldn’t leave my feet in absolute agony at the end of the day. The other thing  important for me was durability. We live in such a disposable culture, where people are willing to throw things out quickly just to re replace them. On the same note, it is also important to make sure you have good quality and durable tennis socks to go with your tennis shoes. These will definitely help make your shoes go that little bit further.

Whilst I’m no saint, I do have a budget. And so whatever I was going to buy, it had to last for months if not longer. After investigating over 30 pairs, I managed to finally nail down our favorite 7 below. I didn’t just analyse which shoes were great for tennis (even though it started like that) – I actually started to test how comfortable each pair was, which pair was built for walking, which for basketball, I mean I got so geeked out that at this point you can even ask me how much the tennis shoes weigh and I’ll know…

So before I tell you what you need to look for when picking the perfect pair, I wanted to remind you of some of the big brands in this field who typically come out with amazing, reliable and stylish products:

Nike

Of course this would be the first name on the list! Being the global superpower of sportswear it seems natural that the likes of Federer, Nadal, and Williams would all choose this particular brand of shoe to play with. Not only would your shoe be equipped with the best technological advancements known to tennis footwear, you would also be the most fashionable player on the court. With Nike tennis products, be it shoes, rackets or bags you simply can’t go wrong.

Adidas

Adidas, a German company that  lives up to its stellar reputation. To put it succinctly, they produce efficient, comfortable and durable tennis shoes. You are pretty much guaranteed success with this brand of sneaker and they definitely will not let you down.

Asics

Though less well known than their Nike and Adidas counterparts, the quality of Asics shoes can not be ignored. Being represented by the likes of Novak Djokovic it is easy to understand why! Offering a quality alternative, it is clear why they remain the choice of sneaker for tennis fans across the world.

Specifics

I came up with the following list when deciding which tennis shoes were the best for me:

1) Did they fit well?

2) Were they comfortable?

3) Could I use them for walking and for other sports?

4) Did they last long?

5) How easily could they be cleaned and laundered?

And with that criteria to hand, I decided to proceed with the below review…

Tennis Shoe Reviews

Adidas Men’s Advantage Tennis Shoe

This is more casual, clean, stripped down, style of sneaker is definitely a very popular choice amongst the more relaxed tennis player, and rightly so!

With a cloud foam insole, the shoe is not only incredibly comfortable but also provides great cushioning on strong impact with the ground. The rubber outsole increases the durability of the sneaker and leather upper enables the shoe to better mould to your foot shape for a more cozy feel. With a more “snug” fit, we would definitely recommend buying around half-a-size up.

Perhaps the best part about this shoe is that it would not go amiss on a casual trip out to the shops. Complimenting both chinos and jeans, you could definitely double up on these as part of a relaxed look and get even more for your hard earned dollars!

With a leather outside, this shoe is very easy to clean ensuring you look as stylish as ever both on the court or elsewhere.
